തിരുനബിﷺയുടെ സവിധത്തിൽ നിന്നവർ എഴുന്നേറ്റു. രംഗം വീക്ഷിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരുന്ന അബൂജഹലും സംഘവും അവരുടെ നേരെ തിരിഞ്ഞു. എന്നിട്ടിങ്ങനെ പറയാൻ തുടങ്ങി. അല്ലാഹു നിങ്ങളെ പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തട്ടെ! നിങ്ങളുടെ അനുയായികൾ നിങ്ങളെ നിയോഗിച്ചത് ഈ വ്യക്തിയെ കുറിച്ച് അന്വേഷിച്ചു ചെല്ലാനല്ലേ? എന്നാൽ നിങ്ങൾ ഇവരെ കണ്ടുമുട്ടിയപ്പോഴേക്കും നിങ്ങളുടെ മതം വിട്ട് പുതിയ മതം സ്വീകരിച്ചു, അല്ലേ? നിങ്ങളെത്ര വിഢികളായ സംഘം? അവർ തിരിച്ചു പറഞ്ഞു. നിങ്ങൾക്ക് നിങ്ങളുടെ നിലപാട് ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ഞങ്ങളുടെ ലോകം.
നബിﷺയെ സമീപിച്ച ഈ സംഘം നജ്റാൻ കാരായ ക്രിസ്ത്യൻ പ്രതിനിധികളായിരുന്നു എന്നാണ് പ്രബലാഭിപ്രായം. ഈ സംഘത്തിന്റെ ആഗമനവും സമീപനവും ഖുർആനിലെ ഇരുപത്തിയെട്ടാം അധ്യായം അൽഖസ്വസ്വിലെ അൻപത്തിരണ്ട് മുതൽ അൻപത്തിയാറ് വരെയുള്ള സൂക്തങ്ങൾ പരാമർശിക്കുന്നുണ്ട്. ആശയം ഇങ്ങനെ വായിക്കാം.
"മുൻകാലത്ത് വേദം ലഭിച്ചവർ ഇതിൽ അഥവാ ഖുർആനിൽ വിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു. ഖുർആൻ ഓതിക്കേൾപിക്കുമ്പോൾ, തീർച്ചയായും ഇത് ഞങ്ങളുടെ രക്ഷിതാവിൽ നിന്നുള്ള സത്യമാകുന്നു, നേരത്തേ തന്നെ ഞങ്ങൾ അനുസരിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു, ഞങ്ങൾ ഇതിൽവിശ്വസിക്കുന്നു എന്നവർ പറയും. ഇത്തരക്കാർക്ക് അവരുടെ സഹിഷ്ണുത കാരണം ഇരട്ടി പ്രതിഫലം നൽകുന്നതാണ്. നാമവർക്ക് നൽകിയതിൽ നിന്നവർ ചിലവഴിക്കുന്നവരും തിന്മയെ നന്മ കൊണ്ട് തടുക്കുന്നവരുമാണവർ. അർത്ഥശൂന്യമായ വാക്കുകൾ കേട്ടാൽ അവർ അതിൽ നിന്ന് തിരിഞ്ഞുകളയും. എന്നിട്ടവർ പറയും ഞങ്ങൾ അവിവേകികളെ പിന്തുടരാൻ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്നില്ല. നിങ്ങൾക്ക് നിങ്ങളുടെ കർമങ്ങൾ, ഞങ്ങൾക്ക് ഞങ്ങളുടെ കർമങ്ങൾ. നിങ്ങൾക്ക് പോകാം."
ഈ സൂക്തങ്ങൾ നജ്ജാശി രാജാവിനെയും അനുയായികളെയും പരാമർശിച്ചു കൊണ്ടാണെന്ന അഭിപ്രായം ഇമാം സുഹ്‌രി രേഖപ്പെടുത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. അതോടൊപ്പം ഈ സംഭവത്തിന്റെ ആത്മാവുൾക്കൊള്ളുന്ന സൂക്തങ്ങളാണ് ഖുർആനിലെ അഞ്ചാം അധ്യായം അൽമാഇദയിലെ എൺപത്തിരണ്ടും എൺപത്തിമൂന്നും സൂക്തങ്ങൾ.
ഖുർആനും തിരുനബിﷺയും വിലാസങ്ങൾ അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തിക്കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. ലോകത്തെ ഓരോ ചലനങ്ങളും എങ്ങനെ മുസ്ലിംകൾക്കെതിരിൽ ഉപയോഗപ്പെടുത്താം എന്ന് ഖുറൈശികൾ നിരീക്ഷിച്ചു കൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. ആയിടക്കാണ് പേർഷ്യ റോമിനെ കിഴടക്കിയത്. മക്കയിലെ ഖുറൈശികൾക്ക് സന്തോഷമായി. അവർ മുസ്ലിംകളോട് പറഞ്ഞു. അഗ്നി ആരാധകരായ പേർഷ്യക്കാർ വേദക്കാരായ റോമിനെ തോൽപ്പിച്ചിരിക്കുന്നു. കുറച്ചു കഴിയട്ടെ ഞങ്ങൾ നിങ്ങളെയും പരാജയപ്പെടുത്തും. വിവരം നബിﷺ അറിഞ്ഞു. അവിടുന്ന് ഖുർആനിലെ മുപ്പതാമത്തെ അധ്യായം അർറൂം ഒന്നു മുതൽ ആറ് വരെയുള്ള സൂക്തങ്ങൾ ഓതിക്കേൾപിച്ചു. ആശയം ഇങ്ങനെയാണ്.
"അലിഫ് ലാം മീം, അടുത്ത ഭൂപ്രദേശത്ത് വച്ച് റോമക്കാർ പരാജിതരായിരിക്കുന്നു. ഈ പരാജയത്തിന് ശേഷം ഏതാനും വർഷങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളിൽ അവർ ജയിച്ചടക്കും. അന്ന് സത്യവിശ്വാസികൾ സന്തോഷിക്കും. പരമാധികാരം അല്ലാഹുവിന് മാത്രം. കഴിഞ്ഞതും വരാനുള്ളതും മുഴുവൻ അറിയുന്നവനാണവൻ. അവനിഛിക്കുന്നവരെ അവൻ സഹായിക്കുന്നു. കരുണാവാരിധിയും അതിശക്തനുമാണവൻ. അല്ലാഹു വാഗ്ദാനം ചെയ്തതാണിത്. അവന്റെ വാഗ്ദാനം അവൻ ലംഘിക്കുകയില്ല. പക്ഷേ, അധിക ജനങ്ങളും അതറിയുന്നില്ല."
പ്രാഥമികമായി ഒരു നിലക്കും സങ്കൽപിക്കാൻ പോലും പറ്റുന്നതായിരുന്നില്ല റോമിന്റെ വിജയം. ഏതാനും വർഷങ്ങൾക്കകം എന്നതിന് പല പരികൽപനകളും അവർ നൽകി. ഉബയ്യ് ബിൻ ഖലഫ്, അബൂബക്കർ(റ) നോട് ബെറ്റ് വച്ചു. മൂന്ന് വർഷത്തിനകം റോം ജയിച്ചാൽ മികവൊത്ത പത്ത് ഒട്ടകങ്ങൾ അബൂബക്കറി(റ)ന് നൽകാം. അല്ലാത്ത പക്ഷം ഉബയ്യിന് പത്ത് ഒട്ടകം നൽകണം. വിവരം നബിﷺ അറിഞ്ഞു. അവിടുന്ന് പറഞ്ഞു. ഏതാനും വർഷങ്ങൾ എന്നതിന് ഖുർആൻ ഉപയോഗിച്ചത് "ബിള്അ സിനീൻ" എന്നാണ്. പത്തിൽ താഴെ വർഷങ്ങൾ എന്നാണതിന്റെ താത്പര്യം. അതിനാൽ പന്തയം പത്ത് വർഷത്തിനുള്ളിൽ എന്നാക്കുക. ഇനാം നൂറൊട്ടകമായി വർദ്ധിപ്പിക്കുക. അബൂബക്കർ (റ) ഉബയ്യുമായി സംസാരിച്ച് പന്തയത്തിന്റെ കാലവും വസ്തുവും പുന:നിർണയിച്ചു. നിശ്ചയദാർഢ്യത്തോടുകൂടിയുള്ള ഈ വാതുവെപ്പ് ശത്രുക്കളെ അത്ഭുതപ്പെടുത്തി.

They rose from near the Holy Prophet ﷺ . Abu Jahl and his group who were watching the scene turned towards them and started saying this. May Allah defeat you! Were you not assigned by your followers to enquire about this person? But by the time you met him, you left your religion and embraced a new religion, didn't you? How stupid are you guys? They replied. You have your stance and we have our way.
The predominant opinion is that this group that approached the Prophet ﷺ were Christian representatives from Najran. The arrival and approach of this group is mentioned in the verses fifty-two to fifty-six of the twenty-eighth chapter (Al Qasas) of the holy Qur'an. The idea can be read as follows: (As to) those whom We gave the Scripture in the past, believe in this Qur'an. When the Qur'an is recited to them they say : We believe in it indeed it is the truth from our Lord; We have obeyed before this . Such will be given a double reward for their patience and they repel evil with good and spend out of what We have given them .They will turn away from idle talk when they hear it . Then they will say, 'We do not want to follow fools. You have your deeds and we have our deeds; peace be on you, we do not desire the ignorant. You can go "
Imam Zuhri has recorded the opinion that these verses are referring to King Najashi and his followers. Also, verses eighty-two and eighty-three of the fifth chapter, Al-Ma'ida of the holy Qur'an, are the verses that express the central idea of this event.
The holy Qur'an and the Holy Prophet ﷺ were marking the reputation . The Quraish were observing how every movement in the world could be used against the Muslims. It is at that time, Persia defeated Rome. The Quraish of Mecca were happy. They told the Muslims. The fire-worshipping Persians have defeated the Vedic Rome. In a little while, we will defeat you too. The Prophet ﷺ knew their remark . Then he recited verses one to six of the thirtieth chapter of the Qur'an, Al Rum. The idea is: "Alif Lam Meem, the Romans are defeated, in a near land, and they, After this defeat, will be victorious in a few years. Allah's is the command before and after; and on the day, the believers shall rejoice . He helps those who He wills. He is the Merciful and the Mighty. This is what Allah promised. He will not break His promise. But most people do not know that. The victory of Rome was not even conceivable. They gave many meanings to the Qura'nic usage; 'within few years' . Ubay bin Khalaf made a bet to Abu Bakar (R). If Rome wins within three years, he will give Abu Bakar ten excellent camels. If not, Ubayy should be given ten camels. The Prophet ﷺ knew this . Advised Abu Bakar; The Qur'an used the term "Bil'a Sineen" to denote some years. The word "Bil'a' also means, ' less than ten years' . So make the bet within ten years. Increase the reward to one hundred . Abu Bakar (R) talked to Ubayy and re-determined the time and object of the bet. This bet with determination surprised the enemies.
